Studio Rules

Food and/or chewing gum is NOT allowed in the studio. Please eat in the reception areas only. Water is allowed. Please bring a water bottle to class. Filtered water will be provided for students.

 

Parents and friends are not allowed in class except on designated viewing days. Family members and friends can view students in class through the two observation windows located in the back hallway.
 

Be ready on time for class meaning: hair, clothing, and shoes are on and ready before class begins.

 

The door to the studio will close at the start of class and will not reopen until initial warm-ups have been completed (approx. 15 minutes after the start of class). Students are not permitted to enter class until the door opens.

 

Late students are required to do initial warm up exercises in the designated location prior to joining the class. This is to ensure the dancers safety by reducing the risk of injury. Repeated tardiness to class will result in meeting with parents and instructor.
 

Students are required to be in the appropriate clothing for their class. Please see dress code NO STREET SHOES allowed in the studio space.

 

The Studio will be opened 15 minutes prior to the first class of the day. Students under the age of eight are not to be left unattended before their class starts.

No running or horseplay in the studio or hallways. Young children must be supervised by parent/guardian at all times. “Kids corner” is provided with activities for young children.

Please do not enter studio before designated class time out of respect for the class in session. If the door is closed, do not enter studio space.

 

NO CELL PHONE use allowed in the studio. Any student on cell phone during class, will be removed for class. 
 

Zero tolerance for bullying, harassing, or disrespect of fellow dancers, instructors, fellow parents, etc. Variations Dance Studio is a loving, supportive environment for all students, staff, and family members. We believe and will enforce that everyone deserves to be treated kindly, respectfully, feel welcomed, and supported. Variations in dance reserves the right to discontinue membership for any member for any reason with no refund.

 

We assume upon registration that student will be continuing with us for the rest of the year and participating in the end of year performance held in early June. Classes are designed to build of skills throughout the school year.

                      Liability Release Form and Assumption of Risk

I/we realize that participation in dance classes and activities could result in some possible personal injury. Despite precautions being taken by the studio, accidents and injuries may occur. By signing this release form, I/we (the dancer and parent/guardian) assume all risks related to the use of any and all spaces used by Variations Dance Studio. I/we agree to release from responsibility the Variations Dance Studio, including all teachers, dancers, staff members, and facilities used from any cause of action, claims, or demands now and in the future. I/we will not hold Variations Dance Studio liable for any personal injury including: scrapes, bruises, cuts, sprains, fractures, broken bones, concussions or death or any personal property damage/loss, which may occur on the premises before, during or after classes.

I understand that Variations Dance Studio is a licensed, accredited, and insured organization.
In the event that I/we should observe any unsafe conduct or conditions before, during or after my/our classes, I/we agree to report the unsafe conduct or conditions to Mynda L Joe, owner, the administrator, instructors, or staff members as soon as possible.

PHOTOGRAPHY/ VIDEO – I give permission for my son/daughter’s photographs/videos to be used for publicity and advertising in the studio, on the Variations Dance Studio website, and in the community.
